The Love Curse of the Rumbaughs

Ivy is being raised by her single mother in a small Pennsylvania town. She is never really curious to know anything about her father because her mother's love is all she needs -- prompting her mother to accuse her of having the "love curse" like the Rumbaugh twins, Abner and Adolph, who run the local pharmacy. When Ivy stumbles upon something creepy in the pharmacy's basement, the twins have to bribe her to keep quiet. Since she shares their morbid fascination with death and taxidermy, the twins agree to teach her the latter. As she gets older, though, Ivy starts to understand more and more why the "love curse" has a hold on her and the ends to which she will go to meet its needs. This gothic story of "nature vs. nurture" will likely tickle your funny bone and leave you feeling a little shocked at the same time. -Hestia
